MEROË was founded by siblings Sarah and Moustafa Dawood, who always shared a deep love for fashion, but also a frustration with what the industry had become. Beautiful design often came at a cost to people and the planet, and that never felt right.

We wanted to prove that fashion could do better, that it could be both elegant and ethical, timeless and responsible. MEROË was born from that belief.

Our roots trace back to Nubia, a region celebrated for its artistry, resilience, and grace, values that continue to shape who we are. Our name takes inspiration from Meroë, the ancient capital of the Kingdom of Kush, a civilization once known for its craftsmanship, innovation, and culture. Located in what is now northern Sudan, Meroë stood as a symbol of creativity grounded in consciousness, a legacy we proudly carry forward.
